IDENTIFIKASI FAKTOR PENYEBAB KERUSAKAN CONICAL RUBBER SPRING BONDED PADA KERETA API MELALUI ANALISIS KEGAGALAN

Conical rubber spring bonded memegang peran krusial dalam mendukung fungsional kereta api terutama dalam memberikan keamanan dan kenyamanan bagi penumpang kereta api. Oleh karena itu, identifikasi dini kerusakan conical rubber spring bonded menjadi penting untuk dilakukan dalam rangka menjamin conical rubber spring bonded dapat berfungsi dengan baik dalam meredam getaran pada saat kereta api beroperasi. Riset ini bertujuan mengkaji tipe kerusakan dan faktor eksternal maupun internal penyebab timbulnya kerusakan pada conical rubber spring bonded dengan menerapkan prosedur analisis kegagalan yang dilakukan dengan cara mengkarakterisasi visualisasi fisik makroskopik, sifat kimia, fisika, mekanik, dan panas dari tiga tipe produk conical rubber spring bonded bekas yang telah digunakan oleh PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) yaitu tipe K, G, dan T. Hasil kajian analisis kegagalan menunjukkan bahwa jenis kerusakan meliputi muncul retak permukaan pada conical rubber spring bonded tipe K yang disebabkan karena karet alam penyusun lapisan material komposit karet tidak tahan terhadap paparan ozon. Kerusakkan mekanis (sobekan) yang parah pada conical rubber spring bonded tipe T yang mungkin disebabkan oleh faktor internal akibat pemilihan jenis dan penetapan dosis bahan kimia karet saat poduksi conical rubber spring bonded tipe T yang tidak tepat. Sementara pada conical rubber spring bonded tipe G kerusakan tampak pada komponen logam yang mengalami korosi yang menyebabkan terkelupasnya material komposit karet dari logam penyusun conical rubber spring bonded tipe G tersebut.
